GTA 6 has two playable protagonists: Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. Rockstar Games confirmed that you can control them separately or together and switch between them at almost any time. Their relationship is not fixed: you shape it yourself.
How switching works
- Play as Jason or Lucia on your own, or as a duo.
- Switch between them at almost any moment.
- Split up during a chase to shake off the police, see the Heat system.
Platonic or romantic: the relationship system
According to Rockstar, the bond between Jason and Lucia is optional and player-driven. It can stay platonic or become romantic. The pair cannot break up or be separated for good.
Things that build the relationship:
- Holding hands and opening doors for each other
- Calling, texting and answering calls
- Accepting invites to do activities together
- Doing robberies together
There are no gameplay bonuses for a stronger bond, but Rockstar says the relationship affects parts of the story, and both big and small choices can change its direction.
The story
Their story starts with an easy score that goes wrong and drags them into a criminal conspiracy across Leonida. Meet the rest of the cast on our GTA 6 characters page.
