GTA Update (gta-update.com) is run from the Netherlands. This policy explains what personal data we process, why, and your rights under the GDPR. Questions: info@gta-update.com.
What we collect
- My Leonida account (optional): username, email address, password (stored encrypted), your progress (rank, checklist, missions, collectibles, saved stories) and any gamertags you add. Purpose: to keep your progress across devices. Legal basis: contract.
- Forum (optional): the topics and replies you post, shown with your username and profile photo. Purpose: running the community forum. Legal basis: contract.
- Newsletter (optional): your email address and when you confirmed. Purpose: sending the daily briefing. Legal basis: consent, which you can withdraw with the unsubscribe link in every email.
- Comments: name, email and comment text. Your email is never shown.
- Push notifications (optional): handled by OneSignal when you allow alerts in your browser.
- Statistics: Google Analytics measures visits in aggregate, only after you agree in the cookie banner.
- Polls, reactions and problem reports: counted anonymously. To prevent spam we keep a hashed (unreadable) code of your connection for up to 24 hours.
- In your browser: without an account, your rank, checklist and saved stories are stored only in your own browser (local storage).
Who we share data with
Our hosting provider, Google (Analytics, embedded YouTube videos), OneSignal (push notifications), Amazon (only when you click an affiliate link) and, once ads are shown, advertising partners, only with your consent. We never sell personal data.
How long we keep it
Account data until you delete your account (you can do this yourself on the My Leonida page). Newsletter data until you unsubscribe. Statistics according to Google Analytics retention settings.
Your rights
You can ask us to see, correct, export or delete your data, and you can object to processing. Email info@gta-update.com. You can also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
