Report: GTA 6 PC Release Date Could Land in Early 2027, Months After Consoles

GTA 6 PC release date is the subject of a likely but unconfirmed report: on October 13, 2026, GamesBeat reported, citing four anonymous industry sources, that Rockstar plans to release GTA 6 on PC in the first quarter of 2027, a few months after the November 19 console launch, as covered by Dot Esports.

Rockstar did not respond to GamesBeat before publication, and neither Rockstar nor Take-Two has announced a PC version. As of October 15, Rockstar’s official line on the Rockstar Newswire remains November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only.

Is GTA 6 coming to PC in 2027?

According to GamesBeat’s four anonymous industry sources, yes, GTA 6 is planned for PC in Q1 2027. But that is a report, and Rockstar has not confirmed it.

The important part is what the report does and does not say. It says Rockstar is targeting the first quarter of 2027 for PC. It does not say Rockstar has announced the platform or locked a public date.

That is why this belongs in the “likely” category, not the “official” category. Four sources make the report harder to ignore, but anonymous sourcing still leaves room for plans to change.

If you are tracking the GTA 6 PC version, remember what is still missing: no store page, no price, no specs and no announcement from Take-Two or Rockstar.

When would the GTA 6 PC release date land?

The reported window is January through March 2027. That is what Q1 2027 means here, and Vice also notes that no specific date has been reported or confirmed.

If Rockstar sticks to that window, the GTA 6 PC release date would land roughly 43 to 132 days after the November 19 console launch. VideoCardz gave that range, and we rechecked it: January 1 is 43 days after November 19, and March 31 is 132 days after.

That window also falls inside Take-Two’s fiscal year, which ends March 31, 2027, as Heise notes. That does not prove the report, but it is context for why a first-quarter target is plausible.

The key missing piece is still the exact day. Until Rockstar gives one, any precise PC date you see is speculation.

How reliable is the GamesBeat report?

The report is strong enough to take seriously, but not strong enough to call official. GamesBeat cited four anonymous industry sources, and Rockstar did not comment before publication.

VideoCardz identifies the reporter as Alexander Lee. We are not making any claims about past accuracy, because this report has to stand on its own sourcing.

Rockstar’s silence on its own is not a denial, and it is not a confirmation either. It simply means there is nothing official to weigh against the report yet.

So the best read is simple: likely, not locked. The GTA 6 PC release date may be closer than many PC players expected, but it remains a report until Rockstar or Take-Two says it directly.

How does this compare with GTA 5 on PC?

If the report is right, GTA 6 would reach PC much faster than GTA 5 did. GTA 5 launched on consoles in September 2013 and came to PC on April 14, 2015, about 19 months later, according to Dot Esports.

That history is the reason PC players are cautious. GTA 5’s PC version arrived long after the original console launch.

A Q1 2027 PC release would be a very different gap. Instead of waiting more than a year, PC players would be looking at months.

Still, history cuts both ways. GTA 5 PC also slipped several times, so a reported target should not be treated as a guarantee.

What about Xbox streaming and PS5 emulation?

There are two side stories around this report, but neither one confirms the PC date. One is about streaming rights, and the other is fan speculation about PS5 emulation.

Heise links the report to Microsoft’s early-October streaming-rights restriction. As Heise reports it, Xbox secured streaming rights, with PC excluded from Xbox streaming.

That is context, not confirmation of a PC schedule. It does not replace an official Rockstar announcement.

Some fans have also tied the rumored window to progress on PS5 emulation on PC, a theme TechRadar has covered. Treat that as fan speculation, not evidence that Rockstar is timing anything around emulators.

What should PC players do now?

Do nothing drastic yet. There is no PC store page, no price, and no PC specs from Rockstar.

That means you should not buy a console only because of this rumor. You also should not assume your current PC will run GTA 6 well, since Rockstar has not published the information needed to judge that.

If you already planned to play on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S at launch, this report does not change your date. The official console launch remains November 19, 2026, and our GTA 6 release date guide tracks it.

If you are a PC-first player, the smart move is patience. Watch the Rockstar Newswire, Take-Two’s official channels, and our running GTA 6 PC version coverage for actual confirmation.

What this means for you

For PC players, the report suggests a possible window of January to March 2027. For console players, nothing changes.

If the report holds, PC players might be waiting months rather than years. But because it is unconfirmed, it should not be the only thing driving your purchase plans.

Think of this as a planning signal, not a promise. Console is official, PC is reported.

Next, watch for Rockstar or Take-Two to confirm platforms, stores, specs and timing. Until that happens, the GTA 6 PC release date remains a likely report rather than an official date.
