GTA 6 PS5 Pulse headset shoppers now have a confirmed launch-day accessory to consider: Sony’s new PlayStation Pulse wireless headset goes on sale November 19, 2026 at $99.99, the same day Grand Theft Auto 6 launches on PS5.
Sony confirmed the headset’s November 19 release and White and Midnight Black color options on the PlayStation Blog. Pre-orders open October 29, 2026, with the new Pulse priced at $99.99 / £89.99 / €99.99 / ¥15,980.
Rockstar lists GTA 6 for November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, so the timing overlap is real. It is not, however, an official GTA 6 bundle.
When can I pre-order the GTA 6 PS5 Pulse headset?
Pre-orders for the new PlayStation Pulse headset open October 29, 2026, with the headset releasing November 19. If you want one for GTA 6 launch day, that pre-order date is the one to watch.
Push Square reports that PS Direct pre-orders begin from 10AM local time. Availability is limited to select regions, including the US, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and much of Europe.
That matters because November 19 will be a crowded shopping day for PS5 owners. GTA 6 launches that day, and a new first-party PlayStation headset arriving alongside it could move quickly even without any GTA branding.
If you are planning your setup early, keep our GTA 6 release date and launch checklist handy. It covers the bigger launch-day picture beyond just audio.
How much does the PlayStation Pulse cost?
The new PlayStation Pulse headset costs $99.99 in the US, £89.99 in the UK, €99.99 in Europe, and ¥15,980 in Japan. That makes it Sony’s cheapest planar magnetic PlayStation headset.
The standard Pulse sits below the Pulse Elite in Sony’s lineup. For GTA 6 PS5 Pulse headset buyers, the appeal is simple: this is the lower-cost new Sony headset arriving in time for launch day.
| Region | PlayStation Pulse price |
|---|---|
| US | $99.99 |
| UK | £89.99 |
| Europe | €99.99 |
| Japan | ¥15,980 |
You are not paying for an announced GTA 6 edition, because Sony has not announced one. The price is for the PlayStation Pulse headset itself.
Is the Pulse headset an official GTA 6 product?
No. Sony confirmed the same launch date, but neither Sony’s announcement nor the sources we found describe the headset as a GTA 6 bundle, GTA 6 edition, or Rockstar partnership.
That distinction matters. Push Square’s headline links the two because the headset launches alongside GTA 6 on November 19, not because Sony and Rockstar announced a co-branded accessory.
So if you see the new Pulse discussed as a GTA 6 PS5 Pulse headset, read that as timing, not branding. It is a PlayStation Pulse wireless headset that happens to arrive the day GTA 6 launches.
What features does the Pulse have?
The new PlayStation Pulse includes planar magnetic drivers, PS Link support for PS5 and PlayStation Portal, Bluetooth, an AI noise-cancelling mic, and two color options: White and Midnight Black.
- Drivers: planar magnetic drivers
- Wireless: PS Link for PS5 and PlayStation Portal
- Other connectivity: Bluetooth
- Microphone: AI noise-cancelling mic
- Colors: White and Midnight Black
Why does 3D audio matter to players asking about a GTA 6 PS5 Pulse headset? In theory, good positional sound can make a dense open world feel easier to read, from traffic and crowds to radios, police activity, and movement around you.
That is our general PS5 audio analysis, not a Rockstar feature claim. Rockstar has not confirmed specific GTA 6 support for 3D audio, Tempest audio, or any exclusive Pulse headset mode.
What about the Pulse Edge?
The Pulse Edge is not a GTA 6 launch-day option. Sony says it is coming in 2027, so it will miss the November 19 GTA 6 release.
Pulse Edge will include a detachable boom mic and will cost more, but Sony has not announced its price. If you want a headset ready for day one, the standard Pulse is the one with the confirmed November 19 date.
That gives players a clear split. Buy the standard Pulse at launch if you want Sony’s cheaper new planar magnetic headset now, or wait for Pulse Edge if you prefer the higher-end model and do not need it for day one.
Do you need a headset for GTA 6?
No. You do not need the PlayStation Pulse headset to play GTA 6, and the headset is completely optional.
Any compatible headset can fit into your PS5 setup, and you can also play through TV speakers. The Pulse may be a clean first-party option, but it is not required for the game.
If you are building a complete launch setup, check our GTA 6 launch day checklist before you spend money. It is easy to focus on accessories and forget storage, downloads, controller charging, display settings, and the basics that actually affect launch night.
You should also think about your controller setup. We have a separate guide on how GTA 6 uses the DualSense, which is the more directly relevant PS5 accessory for most players.
What this means for GTA 6 players
The practical takeaway is simple: pre-order on October 29 if you want the headset on day one. Stock may be tight because this is a new Sony headset arriving on the same date as GTA 6.
Still, do not treat the GTA 6 PS5 Pulse headset as a required purchase. It is a convenience buy, not an entry ticket.
If you already own a headset you like, you can probably keep using it. If you want a new first-party Sony headset with planar magnetic drivers, PS Link, Bluetooth, and a launch-day arrival, this is the one Sony has timed for November 19.
